Product description
The ULTIMA series is the result of over 40 years of experience designing speakers. It stands for extremely good sound at a reasonable price like no other speaker. With premium-class technologies, it reproduces balanced sound with Teufel’s classic punchy bass.
One special feature of the ULTIMA is that it still sounds big even for quiet background music. The ULTIMA series means that you get to experience music, games and TV audio the way they are supposed to sound regardless of volume.
Check out the ULTIMA from every angle
Our laboratories and anechoic chambers are still where we engineered the current ULTIMA Mk4 Series. We gave the design a facelift and made it look a little nicer – it is now more timeless and modern than ever. We also incorporated tons of customer feedback.
The front, which now features a very purist design, has also hidden the cover mounts better. The covers themselves look more elegant and feel similar to a high-quality textile, which makes them easier to fit into any living room.
The new ULTIMA 40 (Mk4) is a new design object for your living room. They fit harmonically into your interior and their audio performance will bring your shows, movies, games, and music to the next level. Teufel's legendary Berlin-engineered bass make them one of Europe's most popular speakers.

Rating: 5/5 stars
If I’m being honest, it’s the Ultima 40 that really steals the show here.
Getting this level of performance for this price is actually quite remarkable. Size, build, performance — it all just works. (…)
It’s almost confronting when you think about it: as enthusiasts, we often spend more on a set of cables than what a pair of Ultima 40s costs. And honestly it’s quite refreshing to experience what is possible with a product like this.
Rating: 9/10
“The Teufel Ultima 40 Mk4 offers an impressive combination of power, warmth and detail. The sound quality exceeds what you would normally expect in this price range.”
“...highly recommended.”
"It cannot be emphasized enough, but Teufel's ULTIMA speaker series is the classic par excellence and still a genuine recommendation. [...] The ULTIMA 40 and ULTIMA 20 remain true sound artists and are virtually unbeatable in terms of value for money. Even as a powerful 5.1 home theater set in combination with the T10 active subwoofer, the 2025 update of the series is still the ultimate speaker recommendation for ambitious movie fans."

The Teufel Ultima speaker series has an iconic look.
“The subtle cosmetic changes to the German manufacturer’s popular speakers, which primarily focuses on good value for money, give them a decidedly chic and modern look.”
“Powerful three-way floorstanding speaker at an absolutely fair price...”
“In our sound evaluation, the Berlin sound transducers impressed us with a very detailed, expressive, and homogeneous sound image. Even the most diverse music genres we played could not rattle the floorstanding speakers, which we would not have expected given the affordable purchase price. The two woofers delivered a rich and at the same time very precise bass foundation.”
"...an outrageous amount of sound quality..."
“For the price, the Teufel Ultima 40s deliver an almost outrageous amount of sound quality. If you don't mind the occasionally overpowering bass - or if it's just your thing - you can build your first serious hi-fi system with these speakers.”(Translated from Germany)
“For the price asked here (...) an almost outrageous amount of sound quality.”
“If you don't mind the occasionally powerful bass—or if it's precisely your thing—you can build your first serious hi-fi system with these speakers.”
It's hard to find this much at this price.
These speakers are one of the best bets on the market for €399.99... They are very well built, very reliable, and pack a punch.
A rich, full sound at a price that isn't excessively high
"These speakers have an energetic sound: they reproduce the synthesizer lines with plenty of flair, give the beats plenty of punch, and make you want to turn up the volume."
